When considering shockwave therapy versus cortisone, the better option depends less on which treatment is “stronger” and more on the tissue involved, the cause of your pain, and what you need to return to doing.
Both treatments may have a place in musculoskeletal care. They work very differently, however, and neither should be chosen without a thorough assessment.
